Here's an example of the so much more journalism that could/should be done on the president of the United States connections to Epstein. Part of what this piece demonstrates is how important slower-baked/crafted journalism is as it allows for desperately needed context and connecting of dots.

Rubio's entire speech was Christian white nationalism. What else could this mean? It's nothing close to actual history, it doesn't make sense except through the invented history of a "shared history, Christian faith, culture, heritage, language, ancestry" in the "common civilization" of whiteness.

One thing about the Republican destruction of academia is their shallow vision of what should replace it. They don't want anything like academics, scholarship, or research to exist, they want it to be nothing more than right-wing pundits spouting off whatever lazy nonsense is needed that week.
Devastated to learn that Univ of Texas at Austin is closing the American Studies dept. The years I spent there earning my PhD were formative, making me the teacher, thinker, and writer I am today. I've passed on what I learned at UT to thousands of students over the past 20 years. Just awful.

This is what ICE does every day. Hunt little kids who are here legally. They get sent to a place called the “baby jail” in Texas. Very little of it ends up on video like this. But it’s routine. And disgusting.

Is there any responsible reporting on any of this? Was looking for Star Tribune coverage of the exchange but couldn’t find any.
Hawley ended up getting so aggressive toward Ellison, including calling for his arrest, that even Rand Paul asked him to tone it down
