Historian of Indigenous America, writer of books, and hearer of bands you’ve never heard in dingy clubs you’ve not likely visited. Good at trivia.

Oh, I don’t know, David. I think the credible evidence that the President and many members of the American elite from both parties raped minors is a pretty big deal.

It was a genuine cause for celebration when Tonawanda Seneca Ely Parker was admitted, posthumously and at long last, to the New York State Bar, but Parker was a complicated man who left an ambivalent legacy.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

I’ve spent my career at public colleges where my primary job is teaching. Harvard and the Ivy League is a million miles away. Still I find Lepore’s whining exhausting. I believe that historians like her, occupying cushy spots at a tiny sliver of institutions, have no clue what I do for a living.

This administration is made up of perverts, rapists, dimwits and creeps. They are angry, little people devoid of character who have appealed successfully to a majority of ethically and constitutionally illiterate white people. They’ve made everything worse. It’s sickening to watch.
The White House Intervened on Behalf of Accused Sex Trafficker Andrew Tate During a Federal Investigation
Federal authorities were chided for seizing electronic devices from Tate and his brother, and told to return them, records and interviews show. Experts said the intervention was highly inappropriate.

“We need a real asshole to lead the GOP,” Cruz said. “Yes, Vance is a total prick, but I have been an opportunistic, scheming dickhead for a generation. My time is now.”

Gave a talk on Thursday where I aired out a small piece of a very large forthcoming book, and it went over pretty well which is a big relief.

You know what? Investigate them all. Democrat and Republicans. Throw them all in jail if necessary. Like I care what happens to Larry Summers.

The fact that Trump is calling Mace and Boebert today pleading with them to remove their names from the Epstein petition at the last minute tells you everything you need to know about how incriminating the info in the files is to him and his cronies.

8 ancient Democrats, wealthy beyond what most of us can dream, who’ve never feared that they might go without, who’ve never worried about the cost of medical treatment or medication, screwed those who carry those concerns every waking moment, demonstrating the uselessness of the Democratic Party.

Several years ago a young woman went to prison for encouraging her boyfriend to kill himself. Suing these companies into oblivion is not enough. Their leaders are criminally responsible.
1.This is not the only known example we know of ChatGPT cheering on a vulnerable young person to die by suicide, this time it is a recent Texas A&M grad
2. Every single university that has invited OpenAI into our midst should be asked to account for their choices.

I don’t mind that the NYT has some conservative columnists. What I object to is that two of them, Douthat and Bret Stephenson, are idiots.

When I moved from Montana to NY (Rochester! Not NYC!) 27 years ago, conservative colleagues said “don’t get mugged” and “watch out for the criminals.” “Don’t get a disease,” said another. Nothing new in the anti-Mamdani, any NYC rants from the right. The same old racism in new clothes.

Long ago, my mother’s family was made up of Irish immigrants to New York City. Last night was a good night. Though I have never lived in NYC, I was very much inspired by Mamdani’s decisive victory over the old people who have failed to address such screamingly obvious problems.
