I cooled off on participating in bundles for a while because life got busy, but I'm super proud to be a part of this one. Richard at @sprintingowl.bsky.social is an amazing community leader. Bundles like this make it feasible for indie creators to actually create.

I've been reading The Once and Future King extremely slowly but I enjoy it so much. I didn't realize how very funny it is, and also how much the Sword in the Stone movie is based on it.

My writing game Chekhov's Coupons is in it. You take the Chekhov's gun and plot coupon tropes to the absurd extreme to write a very contained and self-referential story. I feel like it's brought an extra level of intentionality to the rest of my writing. #ttrpgs

I just finished listening to the Abarat audiobook narrated by Richard Ferrone and he does unhinged villain so well, it reminded me of Willem Dafoe. Now I want to watch more Willems (including a Willem Mendelson Shape but that'll have to stay a dream).

I'd send the guest a copy of the book ahead of time.

I'm thinking of doing a readthrough commentary of Fight Item Run. It's a game I really enjoy, but I think it's a weirder pitch than Spell. Which might seem counterintuitive, but that expectation is what I think throws folks off. Anyway, I'm overdue to spend some quality time with it.

It’s funny because promoting and marketing a book in any way, shape, or form is actually NOT the author’s job. At all. It is unpaid labor we’ve been forced to do for so long the expectation has mutated like a virus into “okay now you also have to be a TikTok sensation to do this as a job.”
I just don’t want “film a video and hope it goes viral” to be a “reasonable” expectation of authors!! I hate being on video! I am too awkward for video!

I sent the manuscript for the Word Witch Daily alpha off for editing and now I'm anxiously twiddling my fingers. I could've (and probably should've) tinkered with it a lot longer, but I need a real, structural answer to "what am I even doing here?"
