Reading the news lately I am frequently reminded of this from Etty Hillesum, quoted by Marshall Rosenberg in his book ‘Nonviolent Communication’.

I've been having trouble with my Creality 3D printer. This is the instructions their support people sent. Luckily, I was able to extract the text of the really important bit, paste it into Google translate and discover they wanted me to change 300 to 320. What a time to be alive.

AFAIK there isn't a vulcano in South Wales so I don't think Pompeii makes a good comparison. Brilliant find, though.

Remember this guy didn’t just fail to pay the tax he owed. He then used legal threats to try and stop people setting out the truth of what happened
Reform: the home for failed Tories. In this case failed in the sense of failed to pay HMRC loads of tax he owed

People have been trying to talk London down, but the evidence tells a different story.

Last year saw:

The lowest murder rate per capita since records began

The fewest murders of those aged under 25 this century

One of the lowest numbers of homicides for almost three decades

I made a newer version of my fidget screw. This is a bit bigger than the original and will be available in 3 sizes. I found a SCAD file for the knurling and editing that wasn't nearly as scary as it first sounded. This is the mid-sized version, 34mm diameter. 3D printed in ESUN orange matte.

If a new app was produced which had, as its core features, the generation of sexual deep fake images of children and calls for a violent global far-right revolution, then not only would it be swiftly banned, but you wouldn't have a single mainstream politician willing to associate themselves with it

I wonder how many accidents are caused by old farts who can't see straight, and how many are caused by youngsters driving like twats. I don't have a problem with eye tests for all drivers. Perhaps also raise driving age to 30.

Government plans new driving rule for over-70s
Government proposals aim to improve road safety while maintaining older drivers’ independence, and may also include higher fines possible for uninsured motorists.

A very long and important THREAD -

The real reason the US is invading Venezuela goes back to a deal Henry Kissinger made with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

And I'm going to explain why this is actually about the SURVIVAL of the US dollar itself.

Not drugs. Not terrorism. Not "democracy." 1/
