Was part of a noble sailing crew, is a pirate now after a comedy of errors.
Has probably been on the receiving end of like 4 mutinys. Keeps ending up in situations where he HAS to spend time with people who have eaten him. Makes elaborate schemes that always end up getting him in trouble.

In the world there are those who have already had their fate incorporated into Scarf at his inception.
None so much as the sergal Logan.
Worn by him, Scarf completes the wide missing portions of his tapestry. Fitting naturally, he is camouflaged.

From this seat, Scarf can inhabit or even possess wearers by mingling with their tapestry. A thread pulling on other thread to aim it into a desirable pattern. Parasitic kismet.
Although, this poses a danger if done without subtlety. The sisters still hunt for him and big alterations draw attention.

Not wanting her creation/child undone, Scarf's weaver cast him into mortaldom to be hidden amidst the other tapestries.
Although imbued with life, Scarf lacks the apparatus of nerves needed to feel the world.
Enter hosts: when touched and worn, Scarf interfaces with the wearer's essence/destiny.
