Besides the whimsy and imagery, John Prine had a nearly preternatural capacity for empathy. He could put himself in the lives, behind the eyes, in the feelings of people very different from himself, without cruelty or caricature. I flew to Edmonton from Seattle to hear him before we lost him.

I think I heard they turned him away at the airport, airline revoked the tickets. I also heard they are accusing him of financing terrorism, that he was part of some nefarious network funneling money to "Antifa." I think they will start up renditioning Americans soon, no trial, because "Antifa."

Antifa = Young White people. Democrats. We're all "terrorists" + subject to kidnapping. He's going to target any source of funds for the Party, deeming it a national security issue, because "Antifa." Soros + everyone else to boot. Pinochet declared his opponents "terrorists" + just rounded them up.
