I think I've been playing too much powerwash simulator around James. I took him to the dentist, where they have a big train set in the waiting room, but instead of playing with the trains, he just kept moving this little toy man around the buildings while making whooshing noises...

I had to ask my 6yo the order of planets in the solar system to make sure I got it right in a game. the worst part is he finished his list with, "and if you're in the old days, Pluto"

I really want to check what's in my mess of a spotify wrapped for this year, but James is home from school now, and I've been listening to the Hazbin soundtrack nonstop whenever he's asleep or out of the house for the past month, so I can't open it in front of him

I got James a fun rhyming book where the cat in the hat teaches kids about the planets in our solar system, and he was enjoying it until the cat said the outer 4 planets were all gas giants, and James had to go get out another book to show me that actually Uranus and Neptune are *ice* giants

He’s right, but I’m terrified to have somehow amassed an amount of stuff a 6yo considers “enough”

at my parenting group, the icebreaker was to say one thing you did this week just for yourself, and I said I played this puzzle game where you design chip circuits, because it uses my brain in a way that lets me tune everything else out, and another mom was like "oh, so that's where James gets it"
