Ana Musat of Renewable UK on why no matter what you think of government net zero targets, to boost the UK's pending generation electricity gap most quickly, we will need renewables.

"Offshore wind is still one of the best deals for consumers" Ana Musat of Renewable UK explains why in 1 minute.

Wholesale prices for new:

🏭 gas: over £100/MWhr

☢️ nuclear: around £128/MWhr

🌬️ wind: around £86/MWhr (below £94/MWhr they save money off bills, above are cost-neutral for billpayers)

IPCC AR6 reports #renewables now 10 times more efficient at CO2 mitigation than new #nuclear.
And given tragectory data, renewables much more efficient after 2030.

President Trump posts an image and writes “Windmills are killing all of our beautiful Bald Eagles!”

The image is a dead falcon at an Israeli wind turbine, as seen in this 2017 Haaretz story.

Trump is posting more photos of dead birds and wind turbines today.

In one photo he captioned “Eagles going down!”, it’s actually a photo of a red kite from 2010 in Spain.

The other photo is from 2006 in Taiwan.

Planning approvals for battery, wind, and solar projects in Great Britain (GB) have almost doubled over the past year, with more than 45GW of capacity approved in 20251. This is 96% higher than last year’s 23GW, and enough to power 12.9 million homes.
