I have just watched "Murder Drones".
I'm afraid that by episode 5 I stopped caring what it was about and by episode 7 I was just watching stuff happening.
Maybe I look up a source that will explain it all to me eventually.
However, I have to applaud the production value and diligence.

Shout-out to a defunct german Rock band of the early 2000s: NoCreeps.
A band with a lot of potential that unfortunately never materialized.
Especially the singer, who had an awesome voice.
Here is what my favourite song of that band: "R.I.P."

So what was the original word for bear?

Everywhere, people talk about how this show is showing Disney the middle finger and how successful it is rallying the opposition, but until I understand if it is really profitable I will sadly have to restrain my joy.
Too many failures of beloved shows in recent years made me sceptical like that.

I just saw "Knights of Guinevere" and enjoyed it immensely.
However, going forward, I have some serious questions:
Where will the series be distributed?
What is Glitch Productions' business plan?
For the life of me, I can't imagine that this show will finance itself just by Youtube clicks.

I love this handwriting font on the label of my old Phil Collins record.

You mean, like a cat?
Why should he do that?
Is that a cultural reference I don't understand?

Not that there weren't stronger sumotori later, far from it.
But somehow they often seem to lack character and individuality.
By now, I find it harder and harder to remember current athletes by look, name or signature technique.
But back then: Akebono, Takanohana, Musashimaru. Those were titans!

I first watched Sumo in 1995 when the whole first division was in Bercy for a three day tournament. I have followed that sport on and off since them.
But looking back, I would have to say Sumo never had that range of great athletes again.

I discovered "The Little Trashmaid"
A comic that tackles the sad topic of oceanic pollution in a surprisingly upbeat and funny way.
I just adore the cheerful and optimistic disposition of the protagonist.
A comic without dialogue, it is sometimes a bit hard to get every joke but it is worth reading.

I hope that's not Sera!
She's happily married! (to a demon. go figure!)

I have to admit to a guilty pleasure of mine. In an american diner in Nuremberg they actually have root beer. Nobody I have ever known likes that stuff. But I order it every time.
Apparently there aren't many like me. Once they mistook my order for Rotbier. (Red Beer)

My mother and I spent quite some time speculating what she was looking at. Besides a smartphone of course.
My guess is some kind of book, she speculated that it might be part of a music instrument.

The Count of Tuscany - Dream Theater
Especially after I read the story about the song's creation.
Right now this is my favourite but my favourites switch from month to month.

I recommend Incase' "Alfie". Also great art (it had to evolve, however and fluctuates depending on his workload), decent worldbuilding, coherent story and amazing characters. And he never let himself be distracted by the porn stuff.
It is just in the process of being wrapped up.

He is an amazing artist and it is clear that he is a skilled world builder. Unfortunately he tends to set up 10% of a story and setting and then gets distracted by a sex scene and moves on.
There is so much potential for more there if he just stayed on a path he set up.

There is a German word that had been declared endangered called "Bandsalat", literally "Band Salad". Remember when in car radios sometimes the device malfunctions and the tape comes pouring out in a mess?
No wonder nobody uses that word anymore.

Few people use fountain pens anymore but they are far from gone. I needed a cheap one last Monday and went to the nearest supermarket. I found two models in the section for school supply.
No longer ubiquitous but at the same time far from gone.

That being said: The ink totally works if you use a quill that gives off enough of the ink. It is still very light and darkens over time, which is irritating during writing.
However, earlier tests showed that it is water proof and does not fade in direct sunlight even after months of exposure.

I made some ink out of blackthorn bark like they did in the Middle Ages.
I tried using it in a cheap fountain pen but found out that it is not dark enough.
It is probably for the best: That ink is basically varnish and would likely glue the fountain pen shut.

Exactly what I felt when I saw "Flow" this year. From the reactions I saw it was obvious that people who thought about the plot were the ones who didn't like it that much and people who wanted to make sense of everything didn't like it at all.
That was a movie that had to be felt.
