Misleading? At first glance, this appears to be another Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. However, this Kiwi-style wine is not from New Zealand’s “South Island,” but from South Africa.
Producers all over the world like to associate their Sauvignon Blanc with the success of New Zealand’s wines.

“La Marca” Prosecco has surged to become the new #1 sparkling wine brand. In 2022, it surpassed André, the former decade-long leader, and has widened the gap. Both are owned by Gallo. Note, while most major brands are declining, the Prosecco brands among them are still growing (La Marca, Mionetto).

Compared to 2024, the number of foreign visitors to the U.S. in 2025 has declined by more than 6.8 m (-9.4%). The overwhelming majority of this decline is due to a substantial drop in Canadian visitors (-5.6 million, -27.5%). The economic effects are nontrivial, esp. on the hospitality sector.

Per capita beer consumption in Germany (2011-2024) has been declining from 109.3 liters in 2011 to 88 liters in 2024 (-19.5%). Regular beer even declined by 22.8% while non-alcoholic beer grew by 38.3%. As a result, non-alcoholic beer's share of total per capita consumption rose from 5.5% to 9.4%.
