Quite a lot of snow on the ground in northern Wisconsin on this Thanksgiving morning.

Southern Wisconsin will get in on the action Saturday.

Tomorrow will be chilly, but a good day for putting up outdoor decorations.

A lot of it comes from right here in Wisconsin, and Wisconet provides the high-quality data required by our farmers and growers to produce the fruits and vegetables you eat every day!
Happy Thanksgiving from Wisconet.

We’re proud to support the farmers and growers bringing you so much of today’s dinners.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve got one winter storm moving out and another winter storm getting ready to move in.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for southern Wisconsin this weekend and it could be a whopper, with at least 90% chance of more than 8” for most of southern Wisconsin!

Pretty gusty across the state today…but where are the gusts from northern Wisconsin?

Without Wisconsin, there would not be as much cranberry sauce in the world.
Everyone thinks wisconsin is about beer and cheese but it's actually about wild rice and cranberry.

We've gotten some 10-15 inch snowfall reports across northern Wisconsin so far, and it's still snowing.

We're starting the day cold, windy, and snowy as the first significant winter storm of the season continues to move across the state.

Travel will be slower across the state and potentially dangerous across far northern Wisconsin.

Be safe as you travel to your Thanksgivings!

Keeping an eye on the wind gusts tomorrow in addition to the heavy snow.

Forecasts have wind gusts approaching 50 miles per hour in southern Wisconsin.

Anyone want to guess how high the winds will gust in Wisconsin tomorrow?

A BLIZZARD Warning has just been issued for Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, and Iron Counties.

This puts Wisconet into Critical Weather Day status until the end of the Blizzard Warning.

Our focus for the next couple days is only on ensuring data up time.

Lots happening in the next 24-36 hours across the state.

Figured it was easier to put together a full graphic than try to type it out in a couple hundred characters.

Remember: Blizzard conditions mean that a combination of snow and wind gusts of at least 35 miles per hour will bring visibility to less than 1/4 mile.

If this is consistently occurring for 3 or more hours, then you have a blizzard.

Blizzard conditions make travel dangerous.
Big weather changes are in store today.

This AM: Dense fog over southern Wisconsin.

This PM - Thanksgiving: A windy winter storm will bring heavy snow to northern Wisconsin.

Widespread 12”+ totals and blizzard conditions possible. Parts of Ashland and Iron Counties could see 20-30” of snow!

Nice weather today, but enjoy it while it lasts.

Change cometh quick.

Cold front moves through Tuesday ➡️ Wednesday and brings the chill.

And with it, comes a Winter Storm Watch for northern Wisconsin. Up to a foot of snow possible in Iron and Ashland Counties.

The Climate Prediction Center has Wisconsin highlighted for below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation in the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks, which cover the November 27 - December 5 period.

This would mean a chilly Thanksgiving and the possibility of snow forecasts.
