This goes for wargaming too. So many seem to be DOA months/years later because instead of getting the basic minis out so people can actually *play* the game they’re held up since they’ve promised another 10 full factions, drafted an ex-Games Workshop employee, realised the scale of production, etc
I hate that small press publishers are incentivized to overextend, overpromise, launch their new title with a suite of add-ons and upsells, reveal high-profile surprise collaborators at a moment of surging attention, and leapfrog past a healthy, iterative scaling-up of production capacity.

“…falls into the same trap as an awful lot of people in seeing penguins as bipedal birds and seeing them as little people. They’re not. They are birds and should be interpreted as such” is a hell of an astute observation and applicable to most people regarding their views on garden birds too.

What happened to that crowdfunded mech wargame that was all over this place a few months back? All those YouTubers kept calling it better than Kill Team and paint jobs of the mechs were popping up everywhere. I can’t even remember its name either, which is never really a good sign.
