-Answers to no state or god
-Possesses unique abilities and knowledge
-Wages a one man war against a secret enemy
Yep, Carloman, everyone's kindly grandpa who tips waitstaff 400%, is a vigilante.

I think a good vigilante character has to, on some level, be a good person, but good =/= nice.
Happy Trope Tuesday! Today's topic: Vigilantes

Is this a trope you like? Have you written it? Where have you seen it done well?

Where have you seen it done bad? Do you just absolutely hate it?

Check below for our stance on Tropes!

All of them💀 World was a mess of competing petty kingdoms, breakaway states, wannabe empires, there was literally always something going on. Certain old chronicles in private collections muse that the mountains were called up by all the shed blood...
#NovemberWorldbuilders Does your fictional world have any wars in its history that are now over? What was the conflict about? What were the repercussions of it?

Slimy fixer in Johnny Mnemonic, cursed film buff in Cigarette Burns, elegant elder vampire in Blade, and of course stars in my favourite scene in one of my favourite movies, Shadow of the Vampire. Gonna miss him.

Vexelstrom and Impulse might be my favourite radio stations in Cyberpunk. Sometimes I need to hear EVERYTHING BURNS when walking around NC for maximum vibes, sometimes I just want the chill DJ set bopping away.

The Coming of the Mountains will impact the lives of humanity in this world for all time. Veney wasn't there for it, but he feels the effects all the same. In fact, he knows them just a little better than most, considering the Mountains brought with them Vampirism.
#NovemberWorldbuilders Let's talk about how the world's history directly impacts your main character (or some other important character in the world you're developing). Do they have an important ancestor? Was there a specific event, say a war or diaspora, that impacted their current life?

Started watching the 80s Robin of Sherwood TV series

It's very cozy, relaxed energy even in action scenes, the production design is top notch, locations are gorgeous, though the pacing's a little off, removing some of the impact

That entire sequence in Simon de Belleme's wizard castle tho👀

"she frank on my stein til ITS ALIVE" might be my favourite post I've ever seen

Still thinking about it weeks later

Trying to think who tf my favourite characters are since I'm not a very character-focused person. Like I don't spend time thinking or writing about them, I just know they were cool. I'm more impressed by well-executed concepts, presence, or performance than arcs or development.

This world was once a mess of useless ever-obliged nobility, would-be enlightened despots, and just straight up cult of personality tyrants. Then the Mountains broke the world and like 99% of them died and were forgotten. Their descendants suck marginally less.
We're talking about our fictional world's history this week, #NovemberWorldbuilders. Tell me about a ruler or leader who made an impact in your world. How are they remembered by those living in the future?

Thank you everyone🙏

I really shouldn't post these because I recede into my own abdomen over literally anything approaching a compliment, but I feel it's necessary

1,053 words written this session for another little Carloman episode, visiting somewhere we don't really go

This story was being difficult until it wasn't, came together quite neatly in the end I think
