Meet our new cat, Daphne. Hopefully eventually a friend for Cassie

Introducing Daphne! We collected her from her foster home this afternoon and she is already making herself at home, and purring like mad. A friendly and petite girl who likes head rubs and playing with her rainbow fish toy.
A small black and white cat. The same cat, playing with a rainbow fish toy.

Since I don't know for sure that @girlinthe.bsky.social has seen this, it is necessary to repost. I think @wobblygoose.bsky.social would also appreciate it.

"After the fall of the Roman Empire, elephants virtually disappeared from Western Europe. Since there was no real knowledge of how the animal looked, illustrators had to rely on oral and written transmissions to morphologically reconstruct the elephant" www.uliwestphal.de/elephas-anth...

Very cool illustration. Many weird elephants 💜

The buff-tip moth (Phalera bucephala) has mastered a very particular kind of camouflage.

When they close their wings up, they resemble a broken twig.

Native to large parts of Europe, there's regional pattern variation that reflects the local tree species. This one best resembles birch twigs?

My "Heck, is this project even going to work????" nerves are starting to subside a little! I reckon we've sewn at least 2/3rds of the streets in the town, and I've got 29 memories/favourite places marked on the map and recorded in my little folder too. It's not quite a couple of metres square
A view over a white bed sheet stretched onto a frame. On it are lines of red, orange, black and green, showing the major and minor roads of a town and some of the footpaths

New exhibition is alive. Here: history.rcp.ac.uk/exhibitions/... and in the physical real world @rcpmuseum.bsky.social.

There are books in it. More to follow when I've had the customary lie down in a darkened room.

Yes, more people could potentially work with the right job, the right employer, and the right adjustments/support.

But many still won't be able to. This is just a fact.

And actually it's cruel to have someone work, if it would mean they don't have any capacity left to live.

Hello! I wonder if monstrous rooster needs a place in the rooster collection at college, or if they already have one?

Thanks, it was designed by my web designer.

Someone who popped by yesterday as I was putting up my exhibition said the Celtic knotwork made them think of the goose's wobbly legs, which I love as an interpretation
