I think we’ve all perceived this as a feeling of dread just below the surface as we watch it all implode under Dunleavy’s malfeasance and negligence, but here is the empirical evidence.

Fred Meyers west didn't have a turkey bigger than 14 lbs.

Safeway west is out, but will be restocked on Tuesday. There were about a dozen various butterballs and signature select. Bigger birds than Fred's at 3PM today.

Thanks Trump!

Dunleavy is deploying the Alaska national guard to DC March 2026.

We can't fund schools but we can send our national guard to pick up garbage in DC.
The Alaska National Guard has responded to public concerns around a rapid response unit trained for "civil disturbance operations:" 100 service members will be trained "to support civil authorities."

At the request of Gov. Dunleavy, they will deploy to Washington D.C. in March 2026.

Trillions have been invested into AI and I find myself absolutely bored reading AI generated answers.

I prefer reading students writing with all those errors and mistakes. Humans learning, failing, and struggling is interesting.

Trillions spent and it's still not anywhere near as good as you.

Governor appointed Senators and Representatives should not be able to run for office for the seat they filled. It's especially undemocratic for a lame duck governor to appoint a replacement elected official. This gives an appointee a huge advantage over the rest of the field in an election.
Palmer Republican Sen. Shelley Hughes, one of the preeminent purveyors of trans panic in the #akleg, is resigning effective tomorrow at 5 p.m. so she can focus on her run for governor.

Her resignation follows GOP Wasilla Sen. Shower, who left the job to run with Republican Bernadette Wilson.
