In Scotland we’re known for braving the cold, battling the wind and pretending it’s ‘taps aff’ weather at 12°C. But there’s one thing we won’t just tough out - losing Scotland’s wild places.

Hello - the petition is asking the next Scottish Government to take the measures necessary to protect and restore nature. You can ask your local representative to back the policies in our manifesto.

Protecting nature takes all of us! 🌍

We’re on the brink of an election, a chance to show we stand for.

Are you ready to make your voice heard? To speak up for Scotland’s #nature - for the places, creatures, and weather that make us who we are? 🍃

Red squirrels are busy at this time of year, foraging for nuts & seeds to store for winter to return to – if they remember where they stashed them!

If you spot any, record them as part of the Great Scottish Squirrel Survey – happening until 12 Oct. 🐿️

Just a few days until October’s full moon! This year it falls on the 7th & is sometimes called ‘Gealach a' Bhruic’ in Gaelic - the ‘Badger Moon’. Folklore says under the moonlight, badgers would gather grass, getting their setts ready for winter. 🌕

She was a force for nature, tirelessly advocating for the protection and restoration of our natural world.

Her presence will be sorely missed." - Tanya Steele, CEO WWF UK.

Dolphins are a joy to see, but changing patterns tell a bigger story. Research by Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust shows Hebridean sea temps rising 0.5°C per decade. Common #dolphins, once summer visitors, are now seen year-round.

Right now just 5% of Scotland’s farm funding directly supports nature-friendly farming. That’s nowhere near enough.

Ahead of next year’s elections call on party leaders to commit to investing in a future where wildlife and farmers thrive 🚜 🐦🐝

From coal to storage heaters, we’ve come a long way. #Nature and our #climate now need us to act again by making the switch to clean energy, like #HeatPumps and improved insulation. 🍃

Scotland’s harvest started earlier than ever before this year 🚜

Farmers are reacting to these challenges in real time, but government support to help implement nature-based solutions is sadly lagging behind.
