Including the Alexa one that's going around I've seen three ads this week where an actor says "say less" and "let's go" in some order. Embarrassing inauthentic slang usage in ad copy isn't anything new, but if I put my tinfoil hat on, it really feels like some LLM gave every studio the same idea lol

the best statement the company could muster recently was “we’re not using AI text to speech to avoid paying actors, we’re just using it to have more voice acting than we could have had otherwise” which is really funny. oh well if that’s all then carry on i guess phew!

Arc Raiders does seem genuinely genuinely but the AI voice acting is a bridge too far for me to buy it, and I have to admit it’s a little crazymaking that basically none of the reviews I’ve seen bring it up at all. Even setting the ethics aside it sounded distractingly bad in the recent beta
