Tonight the 32% lit moon is in the constellation Capricornus, moving past Zeta Capricornus and towards Deneb Algedi.
North America and UK there will be good bright space station passes shortly after sunset.
Moon sets at ~21:20

👑 Cepheus, named after a mythical king of Ethiopia, is a prominent feature in the northern sky. Resembling a royal throne, it never sets for many northern observers and is visible all year round. #constellations #Cepheus

💥 The Crab Nebula (M1) is a supernova remnant located in the constellation of Taurus. It covers an area of about 6’x4‘ on the sky, about the same apparent size as Jupiter. 6,500 ly away from us, this nebula is the aftermath of a supernova explosion observed on Earth in 1054 AD.

✨ The constellation Lyra, which symbolizes the lyre, 🎶 is a small but significant constellation in the Northern Hemisphere's sky. It is most well-known for hosting Vega, one of the brightest ⭐️ #stars in the night sky, making Lyra easy to see even in areas with heavy light pollution.

People often ask me how I manage to post a space photo daily. Here's my recipe: Use a smartphone or a mirrorless camera with a fast 35 mm lens mounted on a mini tripod.

Editing the #astrophoto on the phone usually takes less than 10 minutes — modern smartphone software is quite powerful!

The attached photo captures my night sky dimmed by heavy light pollution, where only the brightest #stars manage to break through the urban glow.

The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is an emission #nebulae in Perseus, glowing about 1,000 light-years from Earth and stretching nearly 100 light-years across. Its deep red light comes from ionized hydrogen, excited by the nearby hot star Xi Persei, which floods the nebula with ultraviolet radiation.
