I've started Crimson Lune Inc. an indie game company based in Montreal.

We are working on realizing our first game - Crimson Tower, a dark fantasy Myst-like inspired by vintage fantasy manga and 70s sci-fi.

Not shocked at all.

Every day, more of us become vulnerable to prosecution or litigation under US censorship laws. While we fight, it's also essential that we protect ourselves.

After two weeks of research and battling chronic fatigue, I finally managed to put together over 4.4k words about alternative storefronts and platforms where creators can potentially host NSFW and/or Queer works.

Hint: There's no real replacement for itchio

I'm doing research on NSFW-friendly storefront alternatives, mostly focused on games, but I'm also keeping creators who do books, comics, artbooks, etc. in mind. It sucks to keep packing your bags and moving but I know folks are looking for options.

maybe I'm naive, but I really do think we could get a Disco Elysium from a healthy workplace.

I genuinely don't believe that we are doing anything for our artistry & industry when we don't hold auteurs & their hangers-ons accountable for what their work culture does to people who work there.

being straight forward and being cruel are two different things. You will inevitably hurt people's feelings in a creative environment, it happens. But you do not need to cut people down, make them feel small, hurt their self worth as a creative and person.

Never stopped being cool. While I understand folks' space concerns, it's nice being able to have my favorite series and games that can't get yanked away from me because of a company's bottom line or a government mandate

Collectors new and old tell Rolling Stone there's nothing quite like the feel of holding your favorite art in your hands.

Oh my god the PayPal call was SO FUNNY. The guy on the phone was like "We don't allow processing payments for explicit material."

So I hit him with "So if I were to go and purchase a copy of Game of Thrones online, my payment would be blocked?"

I think it clicked for him then.

It really is encouraging if you think about it. Wikipedia is incontrovertible evidence of the natural human impulse to cooperate, build something for their community, aggressively pursue knowledge, and mutually preserve it. THAT is human nature.

If you didn’t know that the Myst series has some awesome lore to it: now you do.

YMMV, of course, but The Book of Ti’ana, in particular, is one of my top five books ever. It edited my brain chemistry. I read it so many times I had to buy it again because I obliterated the spine.

I recommend.
📚 The Myst Trilogy eBook is now available on Amazon Kindle and Apple Books! We’re so excited to bring these books back to you after 7 years of being unavailable.
