@mrjamesob.bsky.social shared how my youth club saved me. Instead of getting into drugs and crime, I was given the chance to take part in social & sporting events. I even won the Young DJ of London competition organised by the London Union of Youth Clubs. #SuziQuatro presented me with my trophy!
@mrjamesob.bsky.social was this James I just saw in Edinburgh?
The FA banned women’s football in 1921 because it was more popular than the men’s game and because the money raised was out of the FA‘s control and went to social causes. The ban was not lifted until 1971. #lionesses
Several thousand left pots and pans outside #downingstreet to remind the Prime
Minister to end our government’s complicity in Israel‘s #genocide. Stop starving #gaza. Stop arming Israel now.
I want to throw up
@mrjamesob.bsky.social you said ‘women didn’t work back then’; I know what you meant, but better expressed as ‘women didn’t do paid work back then’. Women have always worked; they just don’t always get paid for it.

‘Tate raped and strangled us’ - women talk to BBC.

Farage said Tate was an 'important voice' for men.

There is something very creepy about Farage, which deserves much more public attention.
@lewisgoodall.com quality programme on #LBC radio @lbc.co.uk today, Lewis. Real issues, great analysis and positive ideas for solutions. Gives me hope. Keep up the good work!

‘Brexit was a terrible solution to the problem of English identity. It did nothing to allow ordinary people to
"take back control" of their lives.’

So, people remain powerless and angry.
And Farage (who championed this failure) now exploits their anger for power.

If there’s so much buyer’s remorse about Brexit, why is Nigel Farage the rising figure in UK politics?
Ten years on, an angry tribe sees itself as more English than British - and Ireland must stay alert to the dangers

The migration problem is not so much one of ordinary people. It is the migration of wealth and the very rich to tax havens and low tax jurisdictions. That is the migration that has to be curbed, and that requires an international effort to shut down tax havens.

Subjected to repeated disinformation campaigns. Estonia sees media literacy education as part of its digital-first culture and national security.

The UK should be doing the same, but Starmer seems incapable of grasping that our democracy needs defending on the home front.

I wondered for a while why Trump was so excited by Brexit, even to the point of getting Farage to fluff him. It was simple, really: proof that, with the support of enough bent media, bad people selling bigotry & lies really could persuade people to vote to punch themselves in the face forever.

The thing about all these pieces complaining about Marine Le Pen's conviction is that not a single one of them bothers to explain why someone found guilty of embezzling millions of Euros from public funds should be allowed to get away with it

And we will build the prosperous, free nation for all that we deserve.

Great letters in The Times on the ugly menace of Trump and what should be done about him:
See him for what he is, stand up to him, say no to him, never trust him, join forces meaningfully with Europe, ask to join the EU Single Market and rethink that not so ‘special relationship’.

Breaking: RFK Jr. has forced out PETER MARKS, the nation’s top vaccine regulator.

In his resignation letter, obtained by the Post, Marks said he was willing to work with RFK Jr on his vaccine concerns — but said Kennedy wishes “subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies.”

Farage and many Tories want the UK to leave the ECHR. That makes them collaborators in Putin's war against human rights and the international rules-based order.

The stench of treason is strong.
