“I carried that unease into a recent group call with Oscar-winning filmmaker Adam McKay and journalists from the Oxford Climate Journalism Network. McKay ended up saying things everyone who cares but is struck by climate fatigue needed to hear.”

2025 was our 3rd (or 2nd) hottest year - by a lot.

The last 11 years have been been the 11 hottest observed. The last 3, the top 3.

We are in an "extreme warming spike" that "suggests an acceleration" and that "past warming rate is no longer a reliable predictor of the future." 📈 😵‍💫 ⏰ 🚨

To wrap your head around this, you have to realize that THE SUN is constantly sending Earth a *massive* amount of energy.

That energy could easily power our world. Instead it's cooking us under the pollution from burning fossil fuels — a vastly smaller, dirtier, and more expensive energy source.
In a newly published paper, we find that in 2025 human emissions of greenhouse gases added around 23 billion trillion joules of heat to the world's oceans – 39 times as much as the annual energy produced by all human activity on Earth. link.springer.com/ar...

36 years since the first international climate science report.
38 years since Dr. James Hansen warned congress.
60 years since President Johnson warned the public.
71 years since the fossil fuel industry knew.

And existential heat-trapping pollution from fossil fuels is rising faster than ever. 💫
Breaking News!
Code Yikes!

The latest CO2 data just came in from Mauna Loa and the 3-year rate of CO2 growth just hit a new record high, now growing at a rate of 7.97 ppm per 3 years.

Well, well, well. Big banks now (4 years running) make more money financing clean energy than fossil fuels.

Yet they are still shoveling out funds to build the stuff that's killing us.

So banks could make a huge profit doing their part to save the world - but they just don't care.

In the 5 years after the US invasion of Iraq for oil:
-Oil and US gas prices soared
-Big Oil profits and stock prices soared
-US taxpayers spent $3 trillion for the privilege of getting gouged at the pump

Probably just a coincidence that Trump axed EV tax credits before invading Venezuela for oil!

The U.S. has become a military nation serving the needs of transnational banks, oil, & foreign nations like UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Russia.
