Non-profit media studio from filmmaker Adam McKay (Don’t Look Up, The Big Short, Anchorman) clearing the air of polluter BS, so we can clear the air of the fossil fuel pollution that's destroying everything.
Oh yeah, let's bring back the 1970s. Rivers on fire! Oil slicks around the Statue of Liberty! Because there's no way to put a wood panel on a station wagon that doesn't spew carbon...🙄

You are, right now, paying Big Oil's $900 annual pollution tax, in the form of higher home insurance, higher health insurance, and higher electric bills for more air conditioning. These costs disproportionately burden the poor and will keep rising as long as the fossil fuel industry exists.
Climate Change Is Already Costing U.S. Households Up to $900 Per Year
A new working paper from a trio of eminent economists tallies the effects of warming — particularly extreme weather — on Americans’ budgets.

The weight of the climate crisis and all of its damage can be... a lot to process. Especially this time of year.

Our friends at Unthinkable built an amazing resource hub to help navigate it all.

Friendly reminder; anyone not treating climate collapse as an immediate threat of unimaginable scale and violence should be ignored, fired and/or voted out.

The creeps and duds who occupy our government, corp news media and boardrooms need to go FAST.

Meet the new devil: Plastic

Big Oil knows its days are numbered as a source of inefficient, dirty, expensive energy.

So now it's betting we'll sell our souls for plastic, which is "cheap" because Big Oil doesn't pay the massive costs to our bodies, health, land, water, air, and (still) climate.

The American Petroleum Institute is running a "seven-figure ad campaign featuring real landmen" on Paramount+ and CBS to capitalize on Landman's gusher of "misleading nonsense."

The latest in the long history of Big Oil weaponizing culture and entertainment to bury us in their cataclysmic bullshit:
Big Oil Hijacked ‘Landman’ for Its Propaganda
I wasn’t planning on writing about the hit TV show Landman, about a Texas oil man, mainly because I haven’t actually, how do you say, watched it. That seems like kind of a prerequisite. But Landman ke...

"T Brand Studio’s creation of that algae advertisement was not mentioned in the [New York] Times’ own coverage of Exxon’s other algae ads... 'Here then, we have evidence that the Times can be bought so that its branded messages are, indeed, meant to compete against its news agenda,' Amazeen writes."
These ads are poisoning trust in media
‘Native advertising' allows fossil fuel companies to disguise their ads in news outlets. A new book argues the practice undermines journalistic credibility.

Today is the 60th(!) anniversary of the first public report on the dangers of fossil fuel pollution.

What happened? A whole lot of fossil fuel bullsh*t and corruption in service of a whole lot of nothing.

All while pollution and warming escalated far beyond what scientist predicted in 1965.

Yes, it's a moral failure to allow fossil fuel pollution and fail to switch to clean energy.

And a criminal failure b/c it is enabled by disinformation, fraud, and negligence.

And a financial failure b/c WE are paying TRILLIONS in damage so fossil fuel companies can make billions in profits. 💸💸💸
