When Ced says wielding a holy weapon doesn't make you a Crusader but the effort you go through and the ideals you hold, I think it complements Leif less well but instead complements the usage of all the Crusader lookalikes lacking holy blood. Good food for thought; I totally forgot about the sibs!

FE5's fatigue system incentivizing you to use everyone and let them shine in addition to the grand number of prfs for many non-holyblooded units feels like a way to reverse FE4. FE4 made the player believe the holy blood system-- made them feel anyone without couldn't compare.

in an effort to make him open his eyes. He becomes the Sage Lord and transforms Jugdral, managing to step out of a majorblood's (Seliph's) shadow and become more remembered in history than him. Leif is the symbol of continental change, letting go of the overpowering systems of the past.

Also a really good point! It's hard to tell if it was writer intent and not just Hirota's intent, but one thing I've really loved about FE5's narrative is that Leif grows up in what feels like an all-encompassing holy blood system. FE5 explores all the failings society has that he'd been blind to

i was thinking in an extremely "hahaha wouldn't it be neat" delusional way wrt potentially writing sleuf that it's fascinating that sleuf was chosen to be claud's eyes and mouth after claud's passing given sleuf has no blood connection to claud nor bragi

I collaborated with @yosjiefo.bsky.social to draw a selection of tarot cards for @theofficersacademy.bsky.social 's upcoming lore event, taking inspiration from the cards as they were depicted in Rider-Waite!
