No, it's not the only note I know to play, but it's one I heard far too often from the DVMs I worked with. "Undervaluing our services" is a common complaint leveled at low cost spay/neuter clinics & other measures intended to help animals, also, so it's not only this "marginal" situation.

I never used the word "all". I referred specifically to those who objected to the law. Yes, their concerns SEEM reasonable. In my own firsthand lived experience, vets concerned w/profits ALWAYS have a "reasonable" textbook rationalization for what they SAY is their reason.

The veterinarians are concerned about losing clients/business/profits & about other people stepping on their professional toes. The lives of these dogs are not their top priority. They are part of why #vetmedisbroken.

Yep, got fired for refusing to shut up about how harmful declawing is to cats. That was in 2010, & I've never managed to get hired for another veterinary industry job since. I do think it's related. 🤷‍♀️
