Finally watched Stuart Gordon's STUCK (2007) now that it's streaming on Criterion.

I loved it. Filled with the most loathsome characters you can imagine making terrible choices that are only enhanced by knowing this is based on a true story + it radiates a threatening filmed in New Brunswick energy

Tbh - this is why I think its vitally important to have an artist at the exec level - you need this kind of POV to run a huge publisher like DC.

Jim Lee openly disparaging AI in no way guarantees anything, no one knows what the future of AI is and no one knows who will be in charge at DC Comics down the line. But I think it's important that a popular artist publicly shot AI down. Fans and artists ignorant of or using AI need to hear this.

Miyazaki survived the bombing of Utsunomiya as a child. His family escaped in a car, but left a neighbor and her daughter behind to save themselves. Miyazaki regrets this, and said this has stayed with him and shaped his film making. He hopes his audience will learn the courage he lacked in 1945.
