Husband, father. Engineer in Nuclear industry 🇨🇦. Nerds out on nature and bad (read: good) martial arts movies. I pick up rocks and bring them home. All photos mine unless I note otherwise.
Re-watering the lichen on my stromatoporoid. As one does.

I like to put the spring seeds into the freezer for 6 weeks then move to the shed till indoor sowing. That’s also some rock cores, a chunk of rose quartz, Collective Arts beer growler and prairie smoke seeds in a Ladurée macaron box 😁

First time I’ve gotten an orchid to re-bloom! Why does this feel more satisfying than anything I achieved at work this week? 😅 Involved some research, harvesting of materials, crafting orchid bark, careful watering.

Buckthorn shillelagh (Irish walking stick) because we don’t have blackthorn in Ontario, only invasive buckthorn. 😅 love the patterns on the root ball though. A native white pine was planted in its place.

Start of new year means thoughts of gardening/germination… Blue flag iris, cup plant, gooseberry (latter, harvested on PEI!) into the freezer for 6 weeks, then into the shed till spring. 🌱

Hastening in 2026 with the burning of the Julbock, drawer of Odin’s sleigh and Scandinavian figure representing the harvest. Hopefully releasing any bad mojo from 2025 🤔🥳 #julbock #happynewyear
