Give them something to vote for. The Dem Party has historically low favorability which implies that the Dem Party is not giving The People what they want. Maybe instead of continuing down the neoliberal, right wing path they could try being Progressive.

How do the politicians (R and D) reconcile that they've decided there isn't enough money to lift everyone out of poverty while they've voted to trade money from your health insurance for terrorizing and killing citizens? And increase the military budget? Who's country is this?

The interest on the national debt is now 1 trillion dollars. That's 1/5th of yearly revenue. The government can't afford to pay it back.
European countries hold 8 trillion dollars of that debt in bonds. If Trump wants to fuck around over Greenland, Europe could easily crash the economy.
