I have strong opinions about text files and I like taking photos.
I absolutely love this. I got my mom a camera over the holidays and have been having a blast teaching her how to use it

#Birds at the dog park! A lot of the smaller birds have a surprising amount of color if you can get a good look at them.

Working on editing some photos from earlier this evening, kinda looks like SF has a rainbow halo!

The tradeoffs there are pretty interesting. In my use case I pretty much just have a bunch of inline sql statements, which I think is probably where you get the most benefit from sqlx.

For a larger or more structured project with dedicated types I could see not wanting or needing a db running.

In general I think I agree with you here, although I go back and forth on if sqlx requiring a db during development is worth it or not. Having the extra checking is really nice.

Unless you are suggesting the validation of new queries shouldn’t require running the db? They mention not wanting to support all of the differences across dbs as the reason they chose not to do that.

Sqlx has this feature already, it can cache the query so you don’t need a db running except when you make changes.

For me I would have to say my local dog park, and not just because I’m there a lot with my dog anyway 😆

It’s good practice for me, and I setup a webpage so I can share photos easily. People’s reactions to a good photo of their dog make it really satisfying.

We need something like folding@home but for volunteer CI hosting. If I could donate machine time to projects I support by just running a docker container or running a binary in a vm I would do it tomorrow.

I think thats a good idea, if you still wanted something to wrap and were pretty sure he’s going to want an fdm printer you could get a small spool of filament and wrap that along with an iou?

I’ve seen this posted elsewhere but “dwarf fortress-ass” really is the best adverb for it. 😆

It’s also worth knowing what your brother will be printing. If it’s larger parts and mechanical assemblies and FDM (squirts out a plastic noodle) is the way to go since it’s cheaper to run for large parts. If he’s going to do figurines for a table top game or small high detail parts then go resin

I have an older Prusa mk3 that’s been pretty reliable, but the enclosures help a lot.

These are also great and the ones with the enclosures are worthwhile www.prusa3d.com/category/3d-..., but you can also get the kits and do more tinkering on them since they are mostly open source

The post kinda reads like you were posting a Nikon vs OM images, it wasn’t until I reread the post and looked and the image watermarks that I realized the images are from you and your kid(?). I think maybe the OP had the same confusion?
