Trump's CEA is circulating its estimate of the economic cost of the government shutdown.

But, BREAKING: It's wrong. It makes a simple arithmetic error. And it's dishonest.

Surprising, I know. 🧵

He knows it. They know it. They've always known it. Amongst themselves, they joke about it. They tell stories about it. They swap advice on how to deal with it.

But most importantly, to everyone else, they lie about it.
MADELEINE DEAN: The president is unhinged. He's unwell

JOHNSON: A lot of folks on your side are too

D: Oh my god, please. That performance in front of the generals?

J: I didn't see it

In what world is this justifiable?
The inner struggle for those caught in the DOJ that set out in their careers as civil servants is real.
Hate and fear cannot win the day.
There is a tipping point for this country. Perhaps this is it. We are mistreating good people at an astonishing rate and in front of us all.

Mike Johnson: "I cannot for the life of me understand how the Democrats think this is some kind of winning political message. Yield man! Let the troops come into your city and show how crime can be reduced."
