I got my second shingles vax yesterday. The first one in October was a cake walk. I should’ve anticipated that I wouldn’t get that lucky twice in a row. 😖🤕😵💫

Pretty sure it’s still Caturday
Recently, with the Powerball being so high, I started to ponder what I would do with that kind of money. Beyond paying off all debt, setting up a trust for my kid, investing in my house and yard, and even doing all of my dream projects - I would still have so much money left over.

The smoothing creates a nice border around the edge of each piece, compressing the clay and the sharp cut corners of the scallops. It takes about 5-ish minutes for each piece but reduces my loss rate quite a bit. Lots less cracking and sharp edges.

Several notes for next "candid" shots of my pots in use: 1. This glaze color and that table don't do anything for each other. 2. Use a tripod. 3. Dining room light not the best source of light - TOO BRIGHT! 4. Lego Flowers need more zhuzhing.

Glazing requires a different skill set than making with clay, and it also requires a different approach for ea glaze color because they behave differently.
My first glaze color is kind of a pain, so I do it first while I’m still fresh and patient.

I was just making more of these, and I think it’s a good example of why potters are delulu. We start and end in completely different places with the same pieces.

At least for now, this is the last this or that. Same as before same clay same bisque firing same glaze. One glaze firing was cooler/hotter than the other.

I have a high filtration bag and filter on my shopvac or I would never do this in a ceramic studio. My making cycle makes a mess and it takes real effort to clean up, especially when I’m in a new space that’s not perfectly worked out yet. Cleaning and resetting.
