The buff-tip moth (Phalera bucephala) has mastered a very particular kind of camouflage.

When they close their wings up, they resemble a broken twig.

Native to large parts of Europe, there's regional pattern variation that reflects the local tree species. This one best resembles birch twigs?

Here's some progress on the little stink bug nymph ^-^

I hand-painted the textures, made a darker variant, and used both texture images as the colour inputs for a toon shader.

I was visited by a marmorated stink bug nymph, and decided to model the lil guy ^-^
Made the rough sculpt today, will see if I can polish and texture him tomorrow

I never realised how cute and boxy stink bug faces are until now 🪲📦
