As part of working on combat, we've gotten the UI hooked up to damage and stamina for testing! The visual is still WIP, and the drain values are higher than normal for testing.

I'm finally somewhat happy with my walk cycle.

I left out the upper body at this stage, but I think I've got the pelvis movement mostly right. The foot movement needs a little tuning still, especially that small knee jitter when the plants it down.

My plan for this weekend was to build a few walk cycles from reference, tune them, pick the best one or average them.

Progress so far: I've just placed 5 keyframes in the latest cycle of make mess - tweak into worse mess - delete - start over. I'm moderately happy with those 5 keyframes, though.

Game idea:

A "Sherlock Holmes" robot that interprets "eliminate the impossible" literally and wanders around killing "ghost hunters," "faith healers," "spirit mediums" and religious figures.

Pitch:

A game sure to upset enough people for marketing to take care of itself!

Oof. Had to re-rig all of those annoying flaps because I "just" weight-painted the flap bones onto the flaps.

...which meant the flaps blended from following the body to following the flap bones.

To do it correctly, I had to use the weights from just above flap bone all the way downward.

Finally got all those clothing flaps rigged, taking her belts into account.

Game skeleton updated without issue, luckily, so now I'm back trying to make them dangle realistically.

Anyway, the skeleton still working is a good sign for the clothing destruction and dangling pieces I'll later add.

Okay, I don't think this "Chaos Cloth" thing is it for me. Great complexity, demands endless tweaking and gives lackadaisical results.

I think I'm just going to rig those clothing flaps and use a few hinge joints (or even rope simulation) with body collision.

Something I learned from experience is to automate any step done more than once.

For my game, I'm using SCons (a Python-based build system where "build" can mean any action) to export from `.blend` to `.fbx` with perfect reproducability. Just run and SCons detect changed `.blend` files.
