it was a huge budget compared to the original 3, i'm sure that made a difference
i suppose the time gape made a big difference too, filmmaking changed a lot in the intervening decades
fury road also seemed kinda artsy at times in how it was shot, and that works for some films but it didn't fit imo

yeah, i dunno how to describe it, but it was like... too over the top. overstimulating for sure. but also absurd... like the road warrior and thunderdome were a bit absurd in their own way, but they weren't past the point of unbelievability

now that George Miller has come out as yet another out of touch old dude haunted by the specter of his past success who's now hopped on the "ai is the future of art" bandwagon, i can say not only was Fury Road very overrated but anything else he does from here on out is destined to be forgotten
