It's the final week of conference recess before Parliament returns next week and I've been making the most of it with meetings and visits galore! Here is a snapshot of my week.

I recently led a roundtable with local teachers and organisations working with young people with SEND. It was an opportunity for me to listen so I can provide feedback to the Government on what is needed to bring about real, positive change.

Great to attend the Guildford Book Festival talk by Mike Berners-Lee earlier this week. It was interesting, informative and challenging about whether we are doing enough to tackle the climate crisis.

I recommend checking out his latest book and the Book Festival events so you can come along.

The Neighbourhood Consultation for a residential-led mixed-use development of up to 1,800 homes, alongside supporting infrastructure and community facilities at Gosden Hill Farm has now been extended to Friday 10th October.

A fantastic visit to Sony’s multi-award-winning Media Molecule studio in #Guildford, where the team showcased their latest innovations.

We also discussed how I can continue to support the industry, to ensure the UK remains the best place in the world to make, sell and play video games.

Out knocking on doors this morning with Catherine Houston (our fantastic by election candidate) and others from the Lib Dem team. Lots of enthusiastic “I’m voting for Catherine” comments from people. And yes, we were windswept but not deterred!

News of the attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur is horrifying. My thoughts are with the victims and the brave emergency services in Manchester; the Jewish community across #Guildford and - as Chair of the APPG for Faith and Society - the wider Jewish community.

I met with the Principal, Mr McKenzie, toured the school and spoke with the student leadership group about my journey to becoming an MP as well as life in Parliament.

Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.

His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.

But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.

We will miss him terribly.
