Great to hear from Local Transport Minister @simonlightwood.org.uk
“We’re looking to blend healthy, greener transport choices that give people greater choice over how they travel. That’s why it’s great to see this research showing areas with our e-scooter trials are now a safer place for cyclists.”

I'm chairing this here webinar, which is all about the learning from the community play Hard Evidence, which was co-created with survivors of #DomesticAbuse, alongside community theatre makers and researchers.
🎭Theatre can bring research to life. But if the research is on a sensitive subject, it must be produced with care.

🔍Join us on 15 May for a webinar to launch a new how-to guide to co-developed theatre for disseminating research on sensitive subjects.

Interesting - and possibly surprising - findings from this natural experiment. Best evidence so far supporting the 'safety in numbers' hypothesis!

Our paper about the lived experience of shingles is out. We found that for some people, linking it with 'low mood' or poor mental health was stigmatising, and resulted in shame and self-blame. Generally people don't know how debilitating shingles can be until they experience it.

I've been lucky enough only to stay in hospital once after having my daughter, but jeez the sleep was awful, and not just because I had a new born!

So I'm really pleased that @bristolbrc.bsky.social is looking at this. A good night's sleep can't be underrated as a tool to help us heal after surgery
It's notoriously difficult to get a good night's sleep in hospital. But the Asleep study aims to change this!

The team's new paper in BMC Psychology looks at what can be changed in the ward environment to help people sleep better - and therefore recover faster - following surgery.

I think it's a while before the #AI robots will be coming for my job...

Found out about a paper after it was published so stuck it in Chat GPT to get a draft news story. Asked it to include a quote from the authors (ie from the paper) but it made up an author - Dr Saira Ali - out of thin air!

I especially like the muscle wastage example @joelangley.bsky.social talks about. Instead of presenting the numbers in an infographic or news story, they created a 3D printed leg, and then one with 10% of its muscle removed. Also some shoes that replicated what it feels like to lose that much muscle
What is knowledge mobilisation? And how does it work?

Our #KnowledgeMobilisation (#KM) lead Helen Baxter and Sheffield's @joelangley.bsky.social joined the Essential Implementation podcast for a chat about KM a few weeks back, to answer these questions.
