The famous Gold Hill in Salisbury. I had sprained my ankle very badly before this trip and did the entire thing on crutches. This place was... a struggle #photography

I had arrived early at Portland Bill to photograph waves crashing over Pulpit Rock, but I was struck by this couple. My husband gets frustrated with me if we are out together because I keep wandering off to photograph complete strangers... 😀

Three photographs all taken in Dorset a few years ago with my 12Mp Sony. I used to get away for four nights a year with the camera, but for one reason or another, it hasn't happened for the past three years.

Satellite imagery suggests that Israel is beginning to build a compound in Rafah that will concentrate Palestinians in southern Gaza, forcing them to live under full Israeli military control.
Israel Is Preparing Land in Rafah to Corral Palestinians into an Area Under Full Military Occupation
Satellite images analyzed by Forensic Architecture show Israel razing land, compacting the ground, and clearing rubble in Rafah in a way that is not visible anywhere else east of the yellow line.

Just watching our two goats on the llama cam. It was my idea when we bought the field shelter, to put wooden bars below the hay racks. They love eating like this, but it makes them taller than me 😀

So, the new Spyder arrived yesterday and we've spent hours trying to get it to work. Last night's profile gave terrible results, with images lacking in contrast, colour and with a green cast. Today is slightly better, but still not good. I've re-installed my original Spyder and will cross my fingers

It looks as though it's going to be a bad year for short-eared owls, so tonight I'm going to share a few images taken at Elmley nature reserve a couple of years ago.

It was a bitterly cold day in Camden Town and one girl serving in this outdoor cafe began to cry. She was being comforted by her friend. I moved over and grabbed the shot in a matter of seconds. They weren't aware they were being photographed #photography #streetphotography

I can't edit tonight because I have a purring Bubu on my lap. So, here are a few from 20 years ago. All taken on my Olympus OM2n using Ilford HP5. This was a true candid. I arrived at the top of this staircase as the boys began messing around. I have this printed and framed with me in the study 😊

If some of you haven't already lost the will to live, this is what I meant about colour spaces. This image was created using ProPhoto RGB in Lightroom and looks fine on my PC. However, this is how it looks saved as a JPG using the same colour space, but within iDrive on the internet

It seems as if another aurora is kicking off right now, but we have 100% cloud until at least Wednesday. To stop myself from feeling sad, this was taken on 10th May 2024. We could actually see the pillars of light moving with our naked eyes. A night I will never forget 😊

I've been struggling the past few days, so apologies for not posting. I thought I would dig out some more film stuff. Old hoarding down on the coast somewhere. Taken with my 1940 Leica IIIb and 1938 5cm Summar lens. (You want to see how sharp this is at 100%) 😊

Put him to sleep?
In Trump’s vengeful, crazed message to letter to the Prime Minister of Norway, he links his demand to seize Greenland to the fact that he didn’t win a Nobel Peace Prize.
When a president is old & no longer able to make rational decisions that are in the interest of his country, what do we do?

Do any of my photographer friends do monitor calibration? I had a Huey for years until a Windows upgrade killed it off. My husband bought me a replacement SpyderPro a few years ago, but I've just had an e-mail saying it will stop working soon. I have a 50% discount on a new Spyder. Any thoughts? 🙂
