...As for lighter gear - this combination gives me that shallow depth of field, concentrating the eye on the subject. I do have a little bridge camera with a greater "reach", but there is no comparison. I'll go and probably sit on a tree stump waiting for the deer to come to me 😂

No question is ever silly. I use a professional 36MP Nikon D810, which alone, weighs a ton. The 600mm is a massive beast, but is necessary for birds. I do, however, use it over a bean bag on my open car window. Dragging them both round a park with a Manfrotto tripod looking for deer is tough...

I think it was better in the mid-70s, but perhaps my memories have faded with time. I like to do street photography up there in the winter, but every year they seem to be on strike.

I think I must have taken this in Glasgow Central a few years ago 🙂

We were asked to take in a stray ferret 2 months ago. He's done well, but is too bouncy for our resident pair, who are old and disabled. So, we went on a play date with Hissing Sid and brought home a pair. Sadly, the hob turned out to be very ill and we had to have him PTS after 9 days. I'm gutted 😭

We had a diabetic cat for many years and the time change used to drive me wild. I altered her injections by about ten minutes a day. One year, I had gone for about a week before realising I was going in the wrong direction...
