How it started:

Albanese - “we will ban gambling ads and take on the gambling industry”

How it’s going:

I've lost all the respect I once had for Penny Wong, she's everything that's wrong with Australian politics.

I wish reforms were based on what's actually required to remedy problems, rather than "deals"

@euanritchie.bsky.social, @drphilmccormack.bsky.social & I reiterate what's required in EPBC reforms to protect Australia's precious natural heritage & to address our intertwined climate & nature crises

I put this together for LinkedIn, but it is just as good here.

I know it is a rather superficial bling exercise, but the "Australian Bird of the Year" does highlight some species in dire straits across this country.

doesn't bode well that the article is entirely focused on politics & development & devoid of any mention of why we need strong EPBC laws! No mention of uncontrolled land clearing, biodiversity crisis, National Environmental Standards, complications of enviro mgt due to accelerating climate impacts

While Murray Watt is the latest in a long line of incompetent protectors of the environment, from both sides of politics, he is just the buffoon in the hot seat. The @australianlabor.bsky.social party is 100% behind him - I had confirmation of this when I contacted my local member a while back. /2

Labor is simply not serious on stopping growth in climate emissions or anything else regarding environmental protection. They seem to think BAU is OK.

This EPBC Act 2.0 vibe check fills me with deep dread.

Each day the upper management of different unis seemingly find new ways to disappoint those of us working at universities. I love what I do, it breaks my heart what's been allowed to happen to unis in recent decades. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10... Robodebt for university academic integrity? WT!
University caught out using AI to wrongly accuse students of cheating with AI
An Australian university has accused thousands of its students of cheating with artificial intelligence. The problem? Many have done nothing wrong.

I can’t believe I have to say this, but historically, masked men who kidnap families in the middle of the night are usually not the good guys.

I know, it was such a poorly constructed and unfair piece.

euanritchie.bsky.social
Yep, I'm sick and tired of ignorance being an ok reason to hammer weather forecasters, it's a so unfair.

Funnily enough, Ali didn't address those issues to give context to her segment. Really, really poor.
