Während Trump gerade 90 Min. in Davos gepredigt hat, haben wir im @inta.europarl.europa.eu die Umsetzung des EU-US-Abkommens ausgesetzt.
Nach den neusten Zollandrohungen war klar: Das unausgewogene Abkommen kann so nicht weiterverhandelt werden.
Wir müssen jetzt das Anti-Zwangsinstrument einleiten.

Nein, fatales Signal, dass EU (Parlament) nicht den Ernst der Lage versteht, sondern sich weiterhin selbstzufrieden mit Nabelschau beschäftigt ist ohne zu merken wie sie sich selber abschafft.

Die Berichterstattung über die Mercosur-Abstimmung ist ein Beispiel für den Niedergang des Qualitätsjournalismus im Social Media-Zeitalter. Das @europarl.europa.eu hat gar nichts blockiert - das EU-Mercosur-Abkommen tritt nun vorläufig in Kraft. Das ist ein übliches Verfahren.

Thirdly, the majority, as visualised in this graph, was more what I would call a 'horseshoe majority' - the bulk of the votes for delay/referal to ECJ came from far-left, Greens and far-right, while centre-left and centre-right voted largely against the referal.

EU Mercosur agreement is a big deal for the Mercosur countries. Many people in the region are enthusiastic about it, especially those who believe in Mercosur as an important initiative to unite democratic countries of South America.

EU finally made positive headlines, now this embarrassment🤦‍♂️
