it’s frustrating and disheartening on both counts- partially from those fans who reduce female art to a cliche, but then also outsiders who see that label and completely dismiss that artist’s talent because they are labeled with the scarlet letter of “sad girl music”

there is something so deeply insidious and misogynistic in taking a truly brilliant once-in-a-lifetime songwriter like fiona apple and labeling her ENTIRE discography “sad femcel music” like are you not embarassed?

like “palestinians supported hamas so they deserve to perish” do you not understand how desperate their reality is, if you have no hope and no real ability to crush an incredibly well-armed and violent colonial power, you would also support the hail mary option!

like this entire week has confirmed to me that everyone is incapable of imagining the lives of other people. Like the absolute fantasy of neolibs that if THEY lived in gaza under horrific apartheid they would maintain the ideas of john locke and not “give in” to the appeal of radical violence

it’s genuinely horrifying seeing people I considered intelligent switch overnight from “two-state solution” to “palestinians are human animals who deserve to be genocided”
