I never really understood what Conservativism was ever really FOR. They had no original thoughts and actually stole some ideas from Liberalism (limited government). As far as I can tell the entire ideology is predicated on being AGAINST everything.

While Stockman might be right about the credit card mumbo jumbo, neither "Keynesian deficits" nor "money-printing(which the Fed does not do) account for our economic woes. Bush inherited a budget surplus of $236 billion from Clinton in 2000. That turned into the Bush deficit of $413 billion in 2004
