I run https://30-30.club, a website and YouTube channel about baseball video games.
Haha yes exactly, I've had a few games where the retrotink can't handle it and I had to just do a regular old component-to-HDMI box (looks a bit uglier...)

I get weird different resolutions that cause me problems sometimes, but I love that it can do component out!

Feels like they could just release a roster update of an old Famista game every year and make some easy cash, but hasn't gone that way

Between this and the Jujutsu Kaisen Famista game, it's just a nostalgia spice they can sprinkle onto other stuff when they need

Grim but maybe that’s it. They might see it as undercutting their DD earning potential to let you use those teams and players for free in other modes.

The game, titled "Big G All-Star Game" featured all 30 MLB teams and full rosters from the 1998 season, which meant you could simulate the experience of Jay Buhner digging in against the Trix Rabbit. Check this video for full gameplay!

Not unprecedented for the series or anything: the Power Pro-Kun Pocket games have frequently included RPG modes like this with no baseball element (though there was always a baseball half of those games still).

I ran into this issue flipping through old magazines in an art class one time. It felt like the universe folded in on itself
