We are a small homestead on 4 acres. We raise most of our own food and are expanding every year. I also raise dairy goats and make goats milk soaps and lotions for sale. Check out www.3doesdairy.com for more info!
Chase is looking like she'll go first. I have her bred date at about Feb 5th but I pen breed so my dates aren't exact.

One of the kids picks a theme for kid names. This year Sam picked and we decided to change the first letter to match this year's tat letter. Any guesses on theme? 😄

Sugar(right) and Spice have it....mostly figured out.

They both came running when I came out with bottles this afternoon. I had to guide them to the nipples on the lamb bar. Once they got latched though they went to town!

Sugar and Spice are both successfully on bottles.

Spice has even graduated to the lamb bar!

We got a bottle bar built mostly because our friend brought us 2 lambs from a set of quadruplets! They are ewes named Sugar and Spice.

It will hold 16 bottles so we are ready for ALL the babies.

Also we reuse. That used to be a bookcase, then the base for kids beds, and now its a bottle bar!

First time this winter I've had to break out ALL the winter gear.

Had to take the axe to the water tank. Water at the bottom around the heater but its either too cold or the heater is going bad. Got something jerryrigged up and ill have to check on it.

Current temp: -13F
Feels like: -36F

Got the ladies moved into the barn early because of the cold front coming. Just need to get the baby monitor set up.

Put everyone else together in the better small shelter and added fresh bedding.

Should also get the pastuerizer and bottles out and dusted off!

Our still (for water, neither one of us drinks) arrived yesterday.

I got it all set up for the initial vinegar run and was really disappointed because the pump wasn't strong enough to circulate the cooling water.

This genius gets home and opens the valves for me....

My excuse is I'm sick. 🤦‍♀️

Sick kids(and mom) this week.

Board games are not so great with grumpy, miserable kids.

There's lots of arguing and pushing of buttons.

Asking the gods for the patience this week for sure.

These pretty ladies are getting round!

Kids are due over the first two weeks of February.

Mommas will be moving into the big barn (heated to 44*F) next weekend.

I haven't posted in a long while.

I haven't been keeping up on business things very well either.

I've been struggling mentally but am doing better.

It's ok to take a step back. Breathe. Reset. Keep going.

The most important step is not the first one, it's the next one.

I've been on hiatus for a while now, but I am so excited about this delivery. We found this book at one of our local libraries (we rotate through at the moment), and I knew we needed it for our library. I also got each of the kids their own scientific notebook. I'll post updates from the farm soon.

All set up at The Renaissance Faire at Sleepy Hollow again.

I will be taking a year off of Renaissance Faires after this. Hopefully I will be back at Faires in the Fall of 2026.

I am still making soap and will be at a couple farmers markets and at EB at Merle Hay Mall.

Today was tattoo day! Everyone is green now. Jeff and I managed to stay clean this year. They also got their CD&T boosters and the boys got wethered.

After we dug through easter baskets we got peas and potatoes planted. It had already started to sprinkle as we started so they'll get a good watering in today! Also we are wet and cold now. Time for more coffee.

Here the pig pen! We don't have any farm equipment and our farm has previously been pretty neglected. So there's metal and stuff buried everywhere. So the plan is to let the pigs dig up the trash and go in and clean out once a week or so. The small area we did last year worked out great.

About 4 hours away from home and I got the message that Fire Opal had her kid. It was just the one chunky buck kid. His name is Ender Dragon and Max is already in talks with management about keeping him. We usually only keep girls......

Yesterday was a beautiful clear sunrise in the Appalachians. Straight into storms. We made it home with Herobrine, whi has taken (realatively) well to the bottle.
April 6, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Yesterday, we drove down to Eastern Tennesse to pick up this guy! He is so sweet and his name is Herobrine. Now we're on our way back home.
