🇺🇸 Spread the word 6/14 is #NoKings and #FlagDay let's also make it #ReclaimOurFlag Day

Individuals- bring an American flag/s to protests

Groups- invest in larger 🇺🇸 flags 3’x5’ feet +

Event leaders - organize a "we the people Flag 🇺🇸 corps" at the front of marches, on stages, near the podium

@pkrugman.bsky.social In response to your latest dashed missive, I suggest you're looking for "sanctum excrementum."

Sharing these numbers because I wasn't aware of them myself. In the US:

* 1 in 5 unvaccinated people who get measles are hospitalized

* 1 in 20 children with measles get pneumonia

* 1 to 3 in 1000 die

If you're not immune, close contact with an infected person gives you measles 90% of the time
Measles – NFID
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can result in severe, sometimes permanent, complications including pneumonia, seizures, brain damage, and even death

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order.
TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

"Move fast and break things" can be deadly when you're impacting medical spending. It won't take long for these same questions to come home to roost in America either.
Calls and text messages have flooded me in the last 72 hours from friends and colleagues in Sierra Leone and elsewhere: Are my meds going to be cut off? Am I going to die? I don't know what to tell them. I don't know what to tell anyone. Hope is my whole jam, but I feel very distant from it.

in one of my favorite books of all time - JUNO & JULIET, an Irish romcom by Julian Gough - one character explains to another that constantly pretending to be an asshole as a joke is meaningfully indistinguishable from actually being an asshole, and I've thought about that every day for 24 years

Wild to go shopping at an upper mid-range grocery store and get cage free eggs for cheaper than the mass produced type.

Even wilder: both options were ostensibly store brand. It's not like they had to stick with the cage free price.

Deep in this article is a discussion of how small different choices decide what side you're on. I'm not up for raging anymore, but I will commit to trying to make things suck less for others in the day to day.

Just 10 days until Fox News starts sharing what a strong economy we have.
The American economy just added 256,000 jobs in December, and unemployment fell to 4.1%. Trump is inheriting one of the strongest economies for an incoming President in generations. And despite destroying our economy in his first term, Trump will try to take the credit for this boom. Don't let him.

My New Year resolutions:
-Try to put more positive energy than negative energy into the world
-Learn enough French I can circle back to learning Spanish
-Spend less time arguing at opinion walls and more time listening to those who want to explain (but not propagandize)
