kind of darkly funny that "gender studies" is the stereotypical "useless degree" because gender studies will help you understand a large and important chunk of the current psychosis in american life

There is no obligation to be a friend to America.

But our true friends are speaking out.

Actual conversation had in real life, about an intersection widening project:

Yrs Truly: "If you make it easier for more people to drive more, then more people will drive more."
Other person: "I don't believe that."

I would say, also, claw back all profits related to the crime, claw back salaries and directors fees, bar directors and senior executives from serving on boards or working in similar capacities.

(Also would rather say auction off all assets.)

Not that you did this at all, but I'm discouraged by explanations that "generationalize": oh, Boomers this, Gen x that. Every age cohort has all kinds of people in it, including comfortable liberals.

Related - here's a slide I've been using this year. (this was from a presentation at @massdot.bsky.social Moving Together conference in Oct). On L is a 2018 Ford F series, and on the R is a 2011 Ford Ranger. Both are Ford 'light trucks'! People love the smaller stuff, just not as readily available.
