Consider the gift of cash if you're not sure what non-cash gift someone would enjoy. Apply this thinking to universal basic income too. You don't know for sure what someone else needs. Only they do. Trust them to buy what they need when able to.

Emily Thornberry makes an incredibly patronising, smug video on Labour account on Instagram - even by her standards!

These Labour ministers with Reform- just can't seem to stop talking about the Green Party.

And it's just making membership rise & rise!

Must be those bloody migrants again

Making our food shops extortionate

Rinsing us for heating our homes

Privatising the shit out of our childcare

Creaming off our mortgages and rent

Bastards.

Add that to the £4,000 a year their Brexit is costing us and you can see why people feel hard-up.

I remember when the Tories had at least the illusion of economic competence.

That illusion is now long gone.
A good point - my Truss-Catastrofuckup-Surcharge works out to £4,800 a year and I certainly didn’t have Mel Stride or Nigel Farage sprinting to my defence.
Nobody equates the £2,500 charge to the likely additional cost to the owner of a 2% increase in their mortgage repayments - y'know, what Liz Truss did with nary a peep from these householders.

Yes, an excellent point. I hadn’t worked it out like that either.
My TrussTwang mortgage tax is £4,630 a year. With no deferral until some point in the future on that, either - we just had to suck it up.

How hard can the public fall?
When there is minimal MSM uptake on investigative research into the corporate coup that constitutes free zones, thousands of people are set to lose their homes to compulsory purchase orders because a corporate political model of governance cares only for the elites.
What You Can Do About UK Enterprise Zones
I write about the dangers of deregulated free zones, I trace their histories, which have their roots in 'empire-building' and British colonialism from the East India Company in 1600 to Hong Kong and Singapore in the mid-1800s.

Summing up the UK govt's budget:

Inequalities, profiteering, regressive taxation and neutering of public investment do not provide firm foundations for the economy.

We need a Budget for the masses, not just for the super-rich, bond markets and corporations..

Wait, wait, wait.

Why, exactly, is my heart supposed to bleed for this person’s plight of… checks notes… owning a £4m house that they’ll have to pay tax on from 2028 (a tax which can be deferred until they sell)?

Am I missing something here?

It’s really simple…

- Cap all political donations
- Ban foreign donations
- Strict conflict‑of‑interest & anti‑corruption laws with penalties
- No titles, honours or peerages for donors
- No govt contracts for donors
- Publish every donation/lobby meeting

…that’ll do it.

There is no ceasefire in Gaza, the IDF are burning people alive in tents, they are killing children scavenging for firewood.
The so-called Rafah crossing is a one way ticket to permanent exile coinciding with Israel’s actual depopulation plans of the Gaza Strip.
