It's easier when you read, part 2. Drugs are covered universally in Canada at the provincial level. You incorrectly assume that a transition from provincial to federal management means there is no coverage bc you failed to read your own reference material (again).

This would be easier if you READ the reference YOU posted. 1947-1971 is 24 years in a country with a far weaker federal system than the US. Hillary Clinton was pilloried for proposing universal health care in 1993, 32 years ago, & we're still having the same arguments about why it's "impossible".

By 1971, Canada effectively had universal healthcare, all provinces had implemented comprehensive, publicly funded medical insurance plans following federal encouragement and cost-sharing - the 1984 Canada Health Act later solidified national standards.
