I like advent calendars, but I hate candy. Hate is maybe a strong word, but let’s up the ante. an Ativan. A coupon to cancel one meeting that day. An edible of appropriate dosage that you’re still functional. A new phone charging cable.

I basically want a stocking I open all month along.

We have some local unhoused folks that rely on the free pantry in front of our house. One of them stopped by asking about a lighter they thought they left in the car last time we gave them a ride. They left with a brand new clipper, replacement flints, a hot meal and pecan pie

Also - the pipeline from purchasing a firearm to fill a gap in a set of tools you own to being a complete gun nut is not very long. Pray for me. (I live in the desert, my survival is not top of mind for it)

if you enjoy some good old fashioned "you are definitely using the wrong programing language" code, here's UTF-8 encoding in pure VCL. which is essentially supposed to be a http config language. i am especially pleased with this

Just to complain here as well, I think that volumetric synthetic load tests against CDNs are dumb. They never demonstrate the capacity the test is supposed to exercise.
