The tech job market is insanely brutal right now. I am highly qualified with 10+ years experience and it’s almost impossible to get an interview right now. Even if you do they grill you like their life depends on it.

AAA is fucked. AAAA is fucked. AA is fucked. Indie is fucked. It's all fucked. I've never seen more across-the-board devastation in this industry in the decade-and-a-half I've been here.
I get really irked when I see people post “indies will save us” or “the laid off devs should go indie” THERE IS NO MONEY publishers are cancelling contracts, angel investors/venture capital don’t want small returns. I think they mean hobbyists with a day job working doubletime & that is a rough ask

i am 100% of the belief that simply forcing take-writers to answer the question "who specifically said this and why are they significant" would result in substantially fewer bad takes circulating in the world
if i ever teach a class on argumentative writing i am going to use these paragraphs as an example of how to NOT write persuasively for an audience.

I found out yesterday that my dog Sherlock, who I’ve had as a partner in some of the toughest times of my life, only has a few days left. It was so sudden.
I am completely unraveling. I’ve never felt so powerless.
