I’m currently employed in manufacturing. Tool and diemaker simply do not have the capacity to actually make the amount of tooling that would be necessary to reshore even like 5% of currently overseas manufacturing. We’re already at like 16 week lead times.
these people actually think like 6 months from now companies like nike are just gonna have manufacturing plants fully staffed, operational and churning out the same product at the same price and we’re just going to go back to normal, i feel like im losing my mind

As someone who shares a home/life with a leading Alzheimer’s Researcher:
I can confirm we have been in crisis mode since Day 3.
This morning:
“We’re already so behind; this is going to destroy decades (of research)….So many are going to die and we won’t be able to know why.”
