In taking this stance, they will manage to rebuild their perception as better for the "average American" economically despite the impact of tariffs that people now largely ignore

Republicans will lean in hard to "AI is taking your jobs" narrative, which frankly, is true in that CEOs are firing people bc they believe in AI regardless of if it can do the job

Meanwhile corporatist hack Dems will line up to support it

Right wing had been strongly anti "big tech" so this is a natural pivot for them
