Safe Access Zone legislation acts as a deterrent to anti-abortion campaigners from acting outside healthcare services, thus saving patients and staff from being targeted- hence no complaints and no need to contact law enforcement. Win/win situation.

Since Repeal of the 8th Amendment to the Irish Constitution, AAC have continued identify/research/lobby government for the best possible reproductive health legislation and practise. We also work to ensure that access to abortion information and services is widely available throughout Ireland.

Lack of public transport & difficulties traveling to nearest abortion provider still a problem in Ireland, especially in rural areas, for disabled, or with restricted freedom of movement. Unnecessary mandatory 3 day wait before treatment only exacerbates problems. Remove it!

Still stuck with mandatory 3-day wait after an abortion request! Govt aware it can result in legal abortion deadline being passed if gestational age of foetus near 12wks. Women can be denied treatment & have to consider travelling abroad for abortion (if can afford to), or remain pregnant instead.
